Our Purpose

Our goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive space where you can connect with fellow gamers, share your passion, and contribute to a thriving community. We live in a diverse world, and that kind of variety makes our community a lot more fun and interesting — but only if we get along with each other. And to do that, we have to respect each other.

These guidelines are important because they help protect the community and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. They also help us avoid legal issues by prohibiting illegal activities and content.

User Conduct

As a member of this community, there will be absolutely zero tolerance to:

Trolling

Any behavior intended to provoke a negative reaction, disrupt discussions, or upset other members. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Posting inflammatory or off-topic messages
• Making personal attacks or insults
• Deliberately spreading misinformation
• Using offensive language or derogatory terms
• Posting excessive amounts of content to intentionally disrupt conversations or annoy other users
• Intentionally derailing conversations or going off-topic
• Using sockpuppet accounts to manipulate discussions or harass others
• Impersonating other users or staff members to cause confusion or harm
• Posting sexually suggestive or explicit content that is unwelcome or violates community standards

Discrimination

We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind based on caste, community, religion, gender, sexual preferences, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, or any other personal attribute. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Making offensive jokes or stereotypes
• Using slurs or hate speech
• Excluding or isolating individuals based on their background
• Refusing to play or interact with someone based on their personal attributes
• Promoting harmful stereotypes or generalizations about specific groups
• Using discriminatory language or imagery in your username, profile picture, or other personal identifiers
• Engaging in any behavior that makes someone feel unsafe or unwelcome due to their background

Harassment

Any form of harassment, including stalking, threats, intimidation, unwelcome sexual advances, doxing, and swatting is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Making inappropriate or suggestive comments
• Sending unwanted private messages
• Sharing personal information without consent
• Repeatedly contacting someone who has asked you to stop
• Spreading rumors or gossip about someone to harm their reputation
• Cyberbullying or engaging in online harassment campaigns
• Blackmailing or threatening someone to coerce them into doing something
• Encouraging others to harass or harm someone

Illegal Activities and Content

Engaging in or promoting illegal activities or sharing illegal content is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Sharing or distributing copyrighted material without permission
• Posting or sharing child pornography or any other form of exploitation
• Engaging in or promoting hate speech, violence, or terrorism
• Distributing malware or viruses
• Using the server to engage in illegal gambling or other illicit activities

Respectful Communication

We encourage open and respectful communication. Here are some guidelines to ensure positive interactions:

• Be kind and considerate: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
• Use appropriate language: Avoid offensive language, personal insults, or inflammatory remarks.
• Respect different opinions: Engage in constructive dialogue and avoid personal attacks.
• Listen actively: Pay attention to what others have to say and avoid interrupting.
• Think before you post: Consider the impact of your words and how they might be perceived.
• Avoid spamming: Keep your messages relevant and avoid excessive self-promotion.
• Consent is key: Ensure you have the consent of others before sharing personal information or engaging in any activity that might make them feel uncomfortable.
• Constructive criticism: Focus on the behavior or issue, not the person. Offer suggestions for improvement and avoid personal attacks.
• Assume good intent: Give others the benefit of the doubt and ask for clarification when unsure.
• Apologize when necessary: If you've said or done something hurtful, apologize sincerely and take steps to avoid repeating the behavior.

Positive Community Engagement

• Create content — share your fan art, gameplays, or other creative content.
• Provide feedback on our games, community, and moderation.

Content Sharing

When sharing content in our server, please adhere to the following:

• Keep it relevant to the channel's topic and the interests of the community.
• Respect intellectual property — do not share copyrighted material without permission.
• Avoid inappropriate content that is sexually suggestive, violent, or graphic in nature.
• Be mindful of spoilers — use spoiler tags for sensitive plot points.
• Avoid spam — including commercial messages and off-topic remarks.
• Credit sources when sharing content you didn't create.
• No piracy — do not share or distribute pirated content.
• No NSFW content — no sexually explicit, suggestive, excessively violent or gory content.

Sharing of Ideas & Feedback

Within this community, our collective goal is to create the best games possible — and that thrives on the open exchange of feedback and ideas. It's natural that some of these ideas may be used by other members or by our studio to enhance the game, its mods, and content.

To foster a collaborative environment, we ask that you share only those ideas and feedback that you are comfortable with being used by other community members or by our studio. By participating and sharing your thoughts, you acknowledge that your contributions may be used to improve the overall gaming experience.

Privacy and Safety

Never share any personal information with anybody. Please take necessary precautions to protect your identity and personal information. Any information requested and collected by any member of staff at Second Quest is covered under our Privacy Policy.

Conflict Resolution & Enforcement

Community Moderation

Community moderators are the mediators, the conflict resolvers, and the guardians against harmful behavior. By actively addressing disruptive actions and fostering a culture of respect, moderators ensure that every member feels safe and comfortable participating. These moderators aren't just employees at Second Quest — active and engaged community members who have demonstrated a commitment to the community's well-being are also added as moderators. Their duties include:

• Enforcing the guidelines — monitoring the community and taking action against violations, which may include warnings, removing content, or suspending accounts.
• Resolving conflicts — mediating disputes fairly and impartially.
• Promoting positive interactions — encouraging respectful, constructive dialogue.
• Answering questions and providing guidance about the guidelines.

The decisions made by our moderators are final and binding. We trust our moderators to exercise their judgment wisely and fairly, and we expect all community members to respect their authority and abide by their decisions.

Reporting Violations

Community members are encouraged to report any violations to a moderator. The report should include specific details, such as URL links to the violating posts, screenshots or other visual evidence, and any additional relevant context.
